Etsy's fee structure has four moving parts. None of them are huge on their own, but stacked together they take roughly 20–30% of a typical sale.

Listing fee — $0.20

Charged every time you publish a listing, and again every 4 months, and again when a unit sells from a multi-quantity listing. It's not free renewals — many new sellers miss this.

Transaction fee — 6.5%

Charged on price + shipping, not just price. So if you charge $20 for the item and $10 for shipping, you pay 6.5% on the full $30.

Payment processing — ~3% + $0.25

Varies by country. In the US it's 3% + $0.25 on price + shipping + tax. Most international sellers pay more.

Offsite ads — 12% or 15%

Charged when a buyer clicks an Etsy-paid ad on Google/Facebook and buys within 30 days. 15% if you've made under $10k in 12 months (optional), 12% if above (mandatory).
